BLK BRBN Cask Strength Bourbon-Style Whisky – Updated Label Aug 2025!

Born in our North Okanagan fields, this cask-strength whisky is defined by a unique mash bill of 54% grain corn and 46% chocolate malted barley. Distilled in our state-of-the-art German and now also Canadian made copper-pot stills, it rests for over 7 1/2 years (yes, we know some of our back labels still say 5 years but we overordered labels and dad hates waste!) in custom toasted and charred, virgin American white oak. Bottled at a potent 52% ABV, this spirit captures the unbridled decadence that only a true cask-strength expression can achieve.

Appearance: Deep chocolatey auburn colour
Taste and Mouth: waves of dark chocolate, glazed cherry, and ripe fig, followed by seductive layers of caramel, vanilla and deep toasted oak on the palate.
Finish: hold on while this symphony of flavours builds towards its luxuriously long, lingering finale that evolves on the tongue.

By far the best Canadian Bourbon style whiskey I have ever tasted. In fact, it is better than most Kentucky bourbons I have tried!! We can get BRBN in Manitoba now (which is very good) but not BLK BRBN yet....hopefully that will change...

I’ve been drinking bourbon for a long time and I’ve tasted a lot of bourbons. Bottom line is who needs Kentucky anymore when we have the Okanagan! Wow! This is the real deal. One of the best bourbons I’ve had. Every flavour note is perfect and hits the mark. I could drink this all day. Absolutely fantastic! Well done Canada! Well done Okanagan Spirits!! I love a good cask strength bourbon, perfect for sipping, and this one hits the mark. I was reluctant for the price but this is as good as a Weller Antique 107 or Jack Daniels Single Barrel, Barrel Proof. Chocolate and red fruit for days...Good job.

Just received my bottle yesterday, I had to crack it open and take a sip.

For my pallet, it’s a little strong to drink straight, but a beautiful sipping bourbon style whiskey with a little ice. Very clean and somewhat spirited, cask strength BLKBRBN is on my top five list for sure.

Excellent! I've had the normal BRBN before, and that has been one of my favourite "sweet" bourbons (OK, corn whiskeys) for a while. This one takes that to another level.

I was introduced to bourbon later in life and have tried many in a short few years. Whether over ice alone or in an old fashioned, with a variety of bitters, this is a smooth easy drinking bourbon. Thoroughly enjoyable and worth every penny!
