I had just received a bottle of the Rhubarb Liqueur from Okanagan Spirits and it's so damn good. Combining it with strawberry was an obvious no brainer, so I made a strawberry syrup I found in the Cocktail Codex book.

Deciding what spirit was going to be the base was the more difficult part. I could have gone with Gin to make this of a light, floral spring drink, or go with a whisky and bring in some bread notes to resemble a pie. I went with the last drops I have of Rye because it has a very nice balance of rye spice and grain. To bring in some nutty notes I used a bit of Amaretto.

I'm quite happy with this drink, the rhubarb liqueur pulls through nicely and the combo of it all does come off like a light version of a strawberry rhubarb pie.
