  • BC'S first bourbon-style corn whisky, BRBN, was awarded gold at the 2020 World Spirits Awards and another gold at the 2022 Canadian Whisky awards.  This whisky was also awarded the Best Value Whisky for Canada and Best Mixed Mash (Canada).

Harvested from Coldstream valley grain corn, through diligent milling, fermenting, distilling and aging we introduce BC's first Bourbon-style Corn Whisky, BRBN. The grain corn is grown just west of our Vernon Flagship distillery, and is milled onsite before being fermented and distilled in our state-of-the-art copper pot flavour stills. After a carefully monitored distillation process, our BRBN whisky is put down to rest and mature in carefully selected white American toasted oak casks. These heavily toasted and medium charred barrels impart subtle layers of caramel and vanilla while also giving the whisky its deep rich auburn colour   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_wF8NCZSvg

I thought I was getting a "Bourbon" clone when its actually 100% corn whisky. The label is all but IMPOSSIBLE to read so it was hard to tell for sure. Black printing on a clear label on a brown spirit... terrible to read. Fortunately I am adventurous and went for it anyway. Now that being said... my experience with corn whisky is not as much as bourbon but this is pretty good. The aging has mellowed things nicely but it still has just enough corn finish to remind you what you are drinking. Pricing is close to a higher end bourbon but for something unique like this its worth a try. If you like corn whisky I would recommend giving this one a try.

I was given a bottle as a gift. Without any research on the distillery I was a little nervous. However, after tasting, I have to admit I really enjoyed it. It is extremely smooth and drinkable straight which many true bourbons can not pull off. The oak gives it a complex richness but yet not overwhelming. At the price it is among the better bourbons and Irish whiskey's but easily holds it own in comparison. You will spend much more to get the equivalent bottle of scotch. Definitely a recommendation if you like to drink flavourful whiskeys.

Absolutely delicious. I found this at the Christmas market downtown and sampled while I was there. I love my whisky and normally go for a scotch or high rye bourbon such as Bulleit. I was very surprised when I popped the cork on this. It has the complexity and richness of a good scotch with the sweetness of the corn. Incredibly smooth and something you would want to savor. Definitely a new favorite of mine.

2nd bottle just opened. First was a gift and an eye opener. Pricing is very competitive even in BC where most whiskey is artificially priced high thru the LDB. Found this at $60CDN to be a better sipping whiskey and compares very favourably with other craft whiskeys such as that offered by 2 Bar Spitits in WA at $48US. A very nice drinking bourbon, served with a splash of water. Has become part of my bar staples.

Was a die-hard original JD rocks fan. Have now discovered the BEST BRBN there is! Never going back. This is the absolutely smoothest, made for sipping and savouring, BRBN I’ve come across in the last 40 years. Thank you. 😘

BRBN is one fine easy drinking whisky. Two fingers neat is the way to go, mixing it would be a sin.

This bourbon is remarkably smooth. Neat, on the rocks, doesn't matter. What is in this bottle is what dreams are made of!
